When the Tour de Himmelfart kicks off on Thursday on Ballevej in Odder, it is the cyclist Alex Pedersen who sets the riders in motion.

Alex Pedersen has a long career in the cycling world behind him. Both as an active cyclist, where it became a world championship, and afterwards as sports director for the first Danish professional cycling team Team Home Jack & Jones. In recent years, he has been one of the main forces behind the Giro d’Italia start in Herning in 2012, and most recently the Tour de France start in Copenhagen this summer.

>> We are happy, proud, and honored that Alex Pedersen want to visit our bike race in Odder. I think we are many who are looking forward to the start of the Tour de France in Copenhagen. Therefore, it is obvious that the man who has got Grand Départ to Copenhagen must be the man who starts “Petit Départ” in Odder. << says Flemming Kajberg Jensen from Odder Cykel Klub, who is one of the organizers behind the stage race.

This is the 18th time that Odder Cykel Klub will welcome riders from large parts of Cykel-Europa to the East Jutland town of Odder. This year there will be approx. 500 starting riders, from 10 nations.
